Happy St. Patty's day!

Overall it was a pretty good day today.

We worked on organizing JT's closet and literally ate nothing the entire day until dinner. We were going to make Pork Chops and corn but ended up getting wings to celebrate the day. Emotionally I had a tough day. Today is my Grandma Weaver's birthday - she passed away in 2002 and I miss her so much. Im feeling better now though after a couple of beers :) and JT loved on me quite a bit and babied me which has been nice. :) I DID NOT eat away my sadness which is a huge accomplishment. I am lucky because I stopped eating my emotions away a few years ago - that has made this weight loss journey a lot more manageable. :)

ON a different note - I have a softball game tomorrow and I am SO excited! I love playing a sport to burn calories - feels like a freebie! haha :)

JT figured it up and if I can lose between 2-3 lbs. a week (which I haven't done yet! lol) I can be very very close to my goal of 144 by April 13 - Ill be in the 150's at least which will be my lowest in years. Its SO hard to imagine myself at that weight! haha I've always been sort of "athletic" and built that way but ive never been really athletic and tone. I can't wait! haha

We also have our warrior dash May 2 and I really have to start getting ready for that! its only 3.1 miles but I want to do an awesome job! :) I think that will take running - so I really am going to start that up... i know i've said that but im yet to do it - still a bit nervous I guess. :)

anyways thanks for reading - Id still appreciate some snack vs. not-snacking feedback if anyone has some to offer! :)

  1. Heather, I saw this NY Times article and thought of you: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/23/health/23really.html?src=twt&twt=nytimeshealth

It basically says that there is NO proof that eating small meals throughout the day boosts your metabolism. It actually says that the best way to keep your metabolism up is to exercise, so that's good news for you :)

My personal opinion is that as long as you keep an eye on your total caloric intake, you should just go with whatever works best for you. Like I've said in emails, I know that I get really hungry around 4:30-5:00 but we don't eat dinner until 6:30 or so, so I plan in some snacks for that time. It's all a matter of knowing how your body works, since we're all different :)
